There is a winter weather advisory here in our neck of the woods, but even at a level 2, life goes on. I had no desire to leave the house today other than a long walk with Ellie and the dogs this morning that proved very entertaining. There’s writing to do, coffee to drink, and a warm stove to cuddle up to. Still, Mike managed to pull me back out.

The roads are a bit of a challenge for drivers today. Mike delivered our new neighbors down the road a ways. Today a few families are butchering hogs and a couple beef. I imagine there are many hands working to see the chore from start to finish.

We stopped by the Amish store near us. It’s my favorite place to go for everyday necessities. The prices are always good and I can find anything I need without making the drive into town or visiting the nearest Walmart.

Our youngest granddaughter turns 2 on Tuesday. Bella is the youngest of four and loves shadowing her siblings. We bought her an Amish doll, considering it’s her go-to play thing when she visits, then drove around back and up the lane to the shoe store to purchased snow boots for her.

It’s time to head home and put a roast in the crock pot. I’m eager to try a new recipe from a dear reader friend. Our grandson Kaden will soon be knocking for papaw to take him out to sleigh over the hills. I’ll have to be sure to have plenty hot chocolate when they return.
